Every since I can rember I have always wanted to set a cottonmouth up in a half n half setup to give the animal a more comfortable more natural home.

So once i had a decent sized Aquarium come open I jumped on the chance to get my 2yr old cotton out of his sterlite tub an into something more comfortable.

This setup is a bit on the complex side compared to how many prefer to keep their hots, but if it keeps my snake comfortable an healthy then the extra work to maintain it is worth it.

How the tank is set up:
4 styrofoam is cut - 3 to fit the length of the tank about halfway roughly lil more, and anouther is cut to fit tightly longway's. Once pushed into place the styroforam acts as a barracase for the watter which is placed on the other side. Substrate an decore is applied ontop of the styrofoam an any adjustments which need to be made to adjust depth of the water is done. The large heavy rocks were placed in ontop of the styrofoam 1st, then the artifical plants which are secured in the styrofoam itself, an the substrate of course fills in the rest. a large rock which was sloped is placed in tehw ater to give a gradual slope to the depth of the water.
