The whole area of southeast and south central Louisine has from the begaining of its place in the states has been set as a underlining dump by not only citizens but by the gov. as well. The US government trys to do nothing for those citizens. By comparison to the rest of the country i see no sense of Americanization in that area. This to me is a good thing and i personally believe as a people with such different culture should form their own country and secede from the US.

@neianna Well, the problem here in the states is that the US simply doesn't care about Nouvelle Orleans, the reason i have no clue why. But they just haven't put in the proper energy to help for the citizens. When the hurricane occurred, which by the way was the worst documented to ever hit the country, the government took forever to even act. Now to say we are the greatest country " which i dont believe we are " in the world, such a horrible thing for US citizens should have never happened.

Apperantly we're (dutch) busy with trying to build/rebuild the levees in NO and we already had three main plans, one long term, one quick fix and one middle way solution. Can anyone give me an update as to what they have done so far?

He can't keep talking , because LSU fired him on April 2009 , and they didn't even fire him face to face , he found out via a news broadcast . Your tax dollars ... working against you while the infastructure crumbles....

Why are the citizens in the U.S. so apathetic to the greatest natural disaster in our country. And, there is a solution. And, yes, New Orleans deserves to be saved, it is a large port city. Please read books: The Storm and The Rising Tide, The conscience of a liberal. Vote Democrat for '08. The only people who support McCain and republicans are millionaires and suckers. Protect our country and infrastructure.
