Destiny of the Shrine Maiden - 1 - The Land of Eternity
Chikane Himemiya and Himeko Kurusugawa are not twins, but share the same birthday. In fact, they could not be any more different from eachother, except for the fact that they are reincarnations of the Solar and Lunar Miko, or Shrine Maidens. On their birthday, the incarnations of the evil Orochi, an -necked monster, awaken in their human hosts. The first attack is by Soma, a classmate & the th Neck, on Chikane, but he is able to resist the evil and becomes a protector of the Miko against the nd Neck, Sister Miyako.

For those who have not seen the sub version, the fighting is extremely cheesy but overall I found the anime to be really great and moving...
