  • My favorite performance by my favorite jazz singer. Syncopation, intonation --- perfection!

  • What's so obvious from this clip ( that I love so much ) is the fact that she really loves to sing. That's one of the things that makes her performance so well. Not to mention the fact that she looks spectacular !!!

She defines both jazz and the 50's so well.

  • wow, whole nother time. Boy, this contemporary society we live in is MAJOR ROUGH.

Not an OBESE person, or slob in the crowd!!

    She was gorgeous.

  • Nineteen-Hundred and Fifty-Eight!! (not 1957)

  • @3R1CtheRED The song is Sweet Georgia Brown and you can download the studio version from the album Finest Hour on Amazon. It is haunting and a totally unique version of the classic.

  • I love how she gradually grabs the crowd and just wows them...

  • lmbo i love this

  • @SwingDanceBand

"She and ...." so who was that, please? Who were the three sidemen in this clip?

  • sick bars

  • love anita!!!

  • Franz Liszt @5:25

  • Not to romanticize drug use, just saying....Ms. O'Day, by her own admission, was high on heroin, when she sang this. She got off of it on her own (thankfully) and to her credit. Don't mean to glorify drug use... Still... There something beautiful (and freeing) about singing and creating and basically truly being "free" this way. Again, not glorifiying drug use. Just saying...
