  • never heard of bringing a hot glue stick, but now that i think of it, its a smart idea, deff going in my bag, thanks for the tip!

  • Yours vids were about the best that I've watched in terms of just raw info. That's saying something too because I've watched probably way too many. I'm researching the whole ultralight/light backing thing. Great job.

  • That looks like the "camping" model of the swiss army knife. I have it and love its features for backpacking.

  • Pretty neat set up, but one thing I will say...I did not realize that you are relying on the swiss army knife as a primary knife. I would get a fix blade with atleast a 5inch blade. If you want more compact maybe a lock blade or both for that matter. I know you are light and ultralite but you cannot replace what a good knife can do, plus self defense if needed...I am sure the swiss works but I would not trust my life to it.

  • Id suggest bringing a small tube of super glue instead of a gluestick. It will create a much stronger bond.

  • Very impressive. I'm glad you mentioned the water filter. I have noticed if you follow any stream or creek long enough, you will always find a dead animal in or near it. I always use a water filter unless it's a spring coming out of the ground. Great ideas, here. Thanks for sharing.

  • Do you not carry any water?

  • 12 years later and I'm still getting great tips from a scoutmaster! Excellent quality, great info.

  • do you have any clothes?

  • Don't forget the super glue. Not kidding. I did philmont and my friend threw a rock at his brother and put a gash in his head and we super glued it. Worked great.
