The 'police' who opposed Éirigí are not there because they believe in anything, they are there because they are getting a few quid. They are the same as those who 'policed' the people of South Africa during apartheid, who 'policed' the civil rights campaigners in the southern US states, they are there simply for a wage. When London tightens the purse strings they will whither away like a snowflake in the desert...
