Mag sein, dass es da auch regionale Unterschiede gibt. Wenn mir jemand sagt, dass er "Italienisch studiert hat", gehe ich aber davon aus, dass er das an einer UNI gemacht hat. Aber wie gesagt, da gibt es wohl auch unter Muttersprachlern unterschiedliche Auffassungen ;-) Jedenfalls ist Richards Deutsch wirklich ausgezeichnet und ich habe größte Hochachtung vor seiner Leistung.

du sprichst besser deutsch als mein englischlehrer und der wohnt schon seit 32 jahren in deutschland, er stammt aus london!

your german is almost perfekt. wenn ich nicht gewußt hätte, dass du kein Deutscher bist, dann hätte ich es vermutlich gar nicht gemerkt.

Richard, the only mistake, I could make out was the pronunciation of the word: "Grammatik". Otherwise, this is superb! Very well done.

You lazy Brits should take an example of this countryman and learn a foreign language.
We Germans learn English, French, Spanish and Russian.
The French learn English, Spanish, German and Russian.
Many Brits can't even speak their own language properly.
Why is that? Imagine, you could sing the "ten German bombers song" in German! ;D

@gcn1999 I used the In-Lingua course books and I took over the GCSE vocabulary list. I did the vocab first and then the grammar. I also watched the Deutsch Plus videos toget myself in the mood a week or so before I left for Germany! :)
