Ick -- good idea but horrid workmanship. I've installed 83-1SP (aka 'PL259) and many other RF connectors on coaxial cable for > 40 years. For the past 20, on RG-58, I just use pn 83-58FCP plugs. No soldering, holds the cable better than anything else, and cost is about the same as 83-1SP-1050 + UG-175 (aka 'reducer').
