Hoshi wo Sagashite "Searching the Stars" Sega Mark III (SMS/Master System) Translation Project

This is a video of the Hoshi wo Sagashite or "Searching the Stars" translation project. This game was made in 1988, over 20 years ago, for the Sega MKIII (a.k.a. the Sega Master System). It's a sci-fi text/graphical adventure game that begins when you take a vacation to visit your girlfriend buy her an egg as a present. The egg hatches into a creature called a "Mio". You must discover what a Mio is, how to care for it.

Looks like a fun game! If I knew anything about either hacking of Japanese or both I'd want to help... but I don't. (Call me inept if you want.) Anways, good luck with this.

I thought it looked fun too, though I'm not very good at this kind of game. The programming work was being done by a great and talented person who tragically passed away at a young age. I'm sure he'd be happy to see someone take up the project again which is what I'm hoping will happen as well. Thanks for the moral support. :) I'll update my website and add new videos as progress develops.

Will do. In fact you'll be pleased to know that someone who had already started on the programming work for the game just discovered my work and was able to make use of my script. The project is coming along so well it should be done pretty soon!
