I thought it could carry 100 aircraft, is the reduction for safety & survivability?
Even if it only carries 45 strike aircraft all ten together makes a formidable concentration of airpower - every 3rd & 2rd world nation must frame its policy by what the US CG's are doing at sea. I just wish the US would use them to cut out the heart of the Saudi-Binladen crime families & Pakistan's ISI for 9/11.
Got to respect them for naming the Class after Nimitz - who saved the US in WW2 from invasion!

Sad for the Americans that Swedish Submarine Gotland class can sink that ship and slip away without being noticed. They had an exercise toghether with and the Eisenhower was "sunk" by the Swedish sub.
