Hippie Torrales was one of the pioneer DJs from New Jersey. Inspired by early forays into New York to see DJs like Richie Kaczor, Hippie began his career in Newark and was the founding resident at the now legendary Zanzibar club. Torrales made a seamless transition from disco to house and was behind the dancefloor classic 'You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone' by Turntable Orchestra

  • I have been searching for this song for at least 15 years!! This song was played continuously at raves and clubs in London during the late '80's.....Enter The Dragon and Dungeons...ahhh the good old days.

  • Glad to be of help, its still a great big thumping classic.

  • i was only in 4th grade in '86..but I know house/club music from my older bro's.. always heard 'bout zanzibar & humphries...but just now this year i'm finding out it was a Jersey Club.. I thought it was nyc like shelter & paradise..dammn house music..luv it..worldwide

  • Yeah once the house takes control its hard to let go. Going to scan the record collection for a few other choice tunes. Peace Mark.

  • GOD damn, i getting old xD

  • Also this sounds a tad too fast

  • ah, fantastic!!. I had this on tape in 88, lent the tape & never saw it again. It had LOTS of classic irreplaceable house on it. An old trak that sampled the breathing in tour de france mixes so good with this.

  • @tranzyd dunno i kinda prefer this speed...but i know what you're saying....a fuck it its an awesome track...would sound good any speed!!!

  • @ladye1012 nice to hear someone remembers this tune x
