@jkinstrey1 so then through simple deductive reasoning and common sense since the navy asked for CG buds candidates doesn't that mean the Seals asked for them? just curious seeing as how the seals are part of the navy it would make sense. you two were arguing about nonsense, its actually kind of sad. the bickering back and fourth. its this kind of stuff that makes people look at the coast guard and think "wow those guys are a bunch of 13 year old girls." shhh shhh i know it hurts.

Heheh, this is awesome. I can totally see it now.
"What do you do for a job?"
"I'm a SEAL."
"Badass. How long have you been in the Navy?"
"I"m actually in the Coast Guard."
"...?"

This is the career I want

@asuwish0000 Well first of all they havent done the selection assesment for DOG in about 2 years...so basically all you need to be part of the DOG is get orders. Pretty hardcore selection process there! I dont care what kind of training you get its a waste either way you look at it. If a boatload of badguys or a nuke are inbound on a ship. Who do you honestly think the prez is gonna call.. The SEALs who just happen to be 50 miles from you guys or a bunch of pretend high speed ninja wannabe's.

u r clueless - there is NO A school in the CG that is 2 days! In fact, just to get into the DOG as a pencil pusher, they have a 5 day selection. For MSST the operational history of an applicant's entire career is evaluated and most come from TACLET and ME ratings with extensive experience taking down criminals in a maritime environment. They r not even looked at without 5 yrs experience, or Specops from another branch of service. Then the training is 2 yrs from LAR5 to airborne and CT.

@asuwish0000 First of all the SEALs did not call anybody. The NAVY called simply because they wanted to draw from a bigger candidate pool due to the growing number of SEALs and at the time the CG was planning personel cutbacks so why not send some folks to the navy if they want to give BUDS a whack. Now that we arent cutting as many personel you notice that the CG BUDS program is NO MORE.Secondly the fact that you compare MSST selection with BUDS almost makes me want to puke.2 days vs 24 weeks!!ha

I think it's because the coast guard has it's DOG program. Why the need uscg to enter SEAL program?

@asuwish0000 Thanks a lot for everything you do. Your an inspiration to me more than you know. My goal is to join the MSST and I've only had the change to talked with one other one and two MSRTs'.
And yes to all of those idiots saying that CG can't be SEALs the MSST and MSRT are probably the most respected anti piracy, drug trade, and terrorism units in West. Theres events where they get together and cross trains with other nations. And people have told me no one is as professional as the D.O.G.
First of all, there is nothing wrong with Coast Guard entering the SEAL/BUDS program. Military branches constantly cross-train with each other for the same common goal.
Secondly,
Check your facts, four Coast Guard men were accepted into the program for the first time within the same class. Two have graduated, one was medically rolled back, the other drop out request.
Why the complaining? Upset you were rejected from the Coast Guard?- No worries, Army/Navy will take you.
