  • progressive....

  • Thankyou so much for sharing this clip a rare gem indeed the origins of the maestro

  • @steviezace I heard a rumour that Steve Vai used to transcribe Eddie Van Halen's guitar solos.

  • I like his stratocaster tone...sounds fatter than his modern Ibanez tone

  • Look at those "high waters" on Stu!!!

  • Salamanders in the Sun I believe is the title?

  • And even a very early version of "Lighter shade of green" he did later with Alcatraz.

  • answer, the animal...5 years before Passion & Warfare recording! <3

  • @HillaryHitler I also have this on vhs and I'm a drummer but fell in love with Vai's playing after seeing him with David lee Roth at the Hollywood Sportatorium. Him And Billy Sheehan together was Insane. Eddie Van Halen is great but he's got Nothing On Vai. All these Musicians are Incredible. After seeing this I gotta break out this videotape and find a VCR

  • I have this on VHS, and love the part where he taps out the Yngwie solo
