I've already reseted my ipod (just the settings though) and it still doesn't work. For my ipod 2nd G 8gb it did the low light for like a couple seconds at first. I restarted it and it worked for like a week, then it just went dark. I left it for like 3 months and nothing happened. Same crap. Reeeeaaallly annoying -_-

try letting the battery die, let it stay dead for a day or two then plug it up to your pc.
i did this (actually i had it dead for a few months till i got tired of using a cd player & tryed to use it from the main songs playlist) & my ipod nano's backlight worked again, i'll try to post this evrywhere so more people can try this.

mine dosent eather but when i was playin xbox and listenin tu music i had me head pressed on it then i go to change the song and it came back on but now it wont at all
