Yeh Shmidt did use this too.Have you seen the gold inlay version.Its glam b4 glam.

Yes, plastic was a new material in the 1920/30s. Oscar Schmidt and other manufacturers like May Bell, went over the top in some cases with mother of toilet seat. I have seen one period guitar that was entirely covered except for the back of the neck and sound board. Enjoy.

I thought the guitar in the vid had mother of toilet seat, like in your 'swine flu' vid... did you later get this one re-done with faux MOP veneers?
...cause the purfling and finish seems to match....
