This is a short teaser for an upcoming documentary on the 100 year history of the efforts to protect the Flathead River Valley in British Columbia. Including the proposed expansion of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park
What an absolute disgrace that the Government of B.C. is so willing to let resource companies move in and ruin this pristine wilderness. Why arent the politicians getting it? We dont want more development; we dont want more wilderness destruction. What wildlife heritage do they want passed down to their children? It is absolutely shameful!
I did some surveying in Grizzly Gulch several years ago, it was level one watershed assessment-- very simple stuff. Sure enough, we walked into a grizzly. Lucky for us, it was too busy digging in a big, rotten stump to notice us so we walked away. I also saw a black wolf, a cougar, a badger and a marten in the Flathead Valley area. Oh, and black bears, of course. It's really something else that the Flathead hasn't been totally developed. Right now, though, there is nothing in place to protect it
