"Ey Reqîb" is the Kurdish national anthem.
The poem "Ey Reqib" was written by the Kurdish poet and political activist Dildar in 1938 while in jail. His real name is Yûnis Reuf (1917-1948) known as Dildar. He was born in the city of Koye located in Arbil Governorate. After finishing high school in Kirkuk, he moved to Baghdad, where he studied Law. Dildar died young at the age of 31 of heart problems. However, he lived to see his poem "Ey Reqîb" adopted as the official kurdish national anthem. It was first played and sung in 1946 on the independency proclamation day of Kurdistan republic in Mahabad.Today the song is widely spread in all occupied Kurdistan and literarily it is on the tongue of every kurd. The poem has become a factor nr.1 for the unification of Kurdistan.
"Ey Reqîb" literally means "Hey Guard", in reference to the jail guards in the prison where Dildar was held and tortured. The title sometimes is mistakenly translated in English as "Hey Guardian" or even "Hey Enemy". The song was originally written in Soranî and it is sung in both Sorani and Kurmancî dialects.
The version in this video is played by the pianist Marcel Guerra in sweden 1998 after it was introduced to him by Bashir Sabri Botani who prepared and wrote the musical notes.
The translation of the poem :
Hey enemy, the Kurdish nation is alive with its language
Can not be defeated by the weapons of any time
Let no one say Kurds are dead
Kurds are living
Kurds are living, their flag will never fall
We, the youth are the red colour of the revolution
Watch our blood that we shed on this way
Let no one say Kurds are dead
Kurds are living
Kurds are living, our flag will never fall
We are the children of Media and Cyrus
Both our faith and religion are our homeland
Both our faith and religion are Kurd and Kurdistan
Let no one say Kurds are dead
Kurds are living
Kurds are living, our flag will never fall
The Kurdish youth have risen like lions
To adorn the crown of life with blood
Let no one say Kurds are dead
Kurds are living
Kurds are living, our flag will never fall
The Kurdish youth are ever present and
Forever will be ready to sacrifice their lives
Sacrifice each life they have, each life they have!!!...

@fenerium1984 Yes we are. What is wrong with gypsies ?! We are proud of being gypsies. Gypsies are much better than turks, arabs or persians.

@soranB55 so then f u c k off out of turkey and get your own land !
fenerium1984 2 months ago
@fenerium1984 Ok, in that case ask your fucking prime minister and his fucked-up government to throw 25-30 million kurds out of Turkey and you willget rid of your headache. If you can't do that then you have to recognize Kurdistan and to learn to live with Gypsy people. Best solution is you don't need 900.000km2. Turkey can do better with 700.000km2 and by doing that you will get rid of all the Gypsies in Turkey. A clean Turkey with 700.000km2 is better than a fucked-up Turkey with 900.000km2.
