One of Waylons best friends was Billy Joe Shaver who it could be said, did a lot for Waylons career,
Waylon used a lot of BJS songs, and i suppose you could say, that in turn helped BJS and this is one of the tunes that did the talking for the pair of 'em

  • Waylon had promised BJ he'd do an album of his songs. He never got around to it and one Day BJ ran into him in Nashville and told him "You're gonna' make that album you promised or I'm gonna' whup your ass." Billy Joe said Waylon "bucked up" a little but it never came to blows. Waylon did the album and it was his biggest seller.

I have Billy Joe's and Eddie's CD entitled "SHAVER" autographed by both of them. I'll treasure it always.

  • Yea i heard somethin along them lines before, Lol, they were for real big buddies tho they are both my favourite performers and i got to see Waylon in LOndon.. and there ain't anyone suffered in the same way BJS has suffered and fought back he must be a real stubborn s.o.b but what a guy. I bet you treasure that album till you ''pop your clogs'' god bless

  • Wow really cool song! Country music is the only genre of music that gives me goosebumps! Its about the feeling!

  • I reckon you can find episodes of your own life, somewhere in the lines of a country song ...yea i love it too

  • fenced yards aint hole cards...best line ever written

  • BJS as to be one of the best writers ever, Waylon thought so, he dedicated an album to the Music of Billy
