Teenagers might make for the best Sentinels. They're old enough to puzzle things out, know the difference between a colonel and a kernel, etc. But they're young enough to be idealistic, determined, and hopeful, instead of fashionably dreary like so many people are by the time that they're, well, my age.

they were first the young Sentinels then renamed Space Sentinels

this was the best cartoon like ever when i was a youngster..bloody loved it!!!

When I was 10 years old and was in elementary school, I watched the "Space Sentinels' with my
sisters and Donald on my mother's little tv set at our old hooeuse. It was a wonderful show! Now, 33 years later, I still like them on DVD! Astraea, Hercules and Mercury were great! and they live on in my heart!

@SebastianLoveMachine Point well taken. There's hardly any good cartoons on Saturday mornings anymore.
As for me, I only watch certain kinds for my animated entertainment nowadays: comic book superhero animated series/films, prime-time/late-night western animated series like "Venture Bros.", some good old-school U.S. saturday morning cartoons, and of course Anime (depending on my genre tastes). Those I see are only awesome kinds of animated entertainment around.

@voicemaster71 thnx dudes. I remember FF as a kid. Didnt watch SS because there was something else on.

When BCI had the rights to the Filmation library, they released a DVD set containing both the Space Sentinnels and the Freedom Force. And you're right. It is the same Hercules in both shows. The only difference is, Hercules could fly in Space Sentinnels and he rode the winged horse, Pegasus in the Freedom Force. And there is a year's difference. SS came on in 1977 and the FF aired as part of Tarzan and the Super 7 in 1978.
But there is an official DVD release. I have it and it's awesome!!

@voicemaster71 where did you get the DVD of this? Wasnt this Hercules was part of Freedom Force? But all in all Filmation was one the coolest cartoon companies around. All except of Shazam and Hero High.
Was about 5 or 6 when this was on. Brings back loads of childhood memories of putting the TV on (not with any remote!) and watching other stuff like Battle of The Planets, Captain Caveman, Banana Splits, Animal Crackers to name but a few. Sure kids TV today is crap compared to this - we must have been spoilt!
