Well, I saw a comic on Deviant Art the other day. It was about Team Fortress 2, teleports, and a certain Stanley Kubrick movie. Being a fan of all three topics, I decided to make that comic into reality.

Basically, the comic that inspired me to make this video.

Used Team Fortress 2 Source Recorder (Demo Recorder) to export a little 30 second game play footage I had made using bots and a lot of cursing. About 900 High Definition frames equaling to about 4GB later, I had my game play footage.

Next, I had to go into G-Mod and pose the Heavy in some weird positions to cover the scenes in the movie where they cut to Dave traveling at the speed of light in his ship.

Using the video editing software I got, I added the game play footage, the G-Mod Pictures, the scene from the movie, some nifty music, dialogue and sound effects from Team Fortress 2, and epileptic seizures to make what you see in front of you.

Strangely, before this video was made, I had wanted to make a Left 4 Dead video. It was too much for my computer to handle and I decided to can 28GB of raw High Definition footage. Such a sad day that was...

Obligatory credits:

Valve for making Team Fortress 2, an awesome game that can run on the shittiest of computers (mine). Also for making demo recording easier, with their Source Recorder. No need to run Fraps, no need to lower settings; with Source you can just record on the lowest settings, and then export the frames with the graphics set to max, and it works out perfectly.

Stanley Kubrick and his awesome movie. Most people hated it, but I still love it.

Music by Nine Inch Nails. Song #2 off of the Ghosts I album.

  • how can this be 2001? TF2 was released in 2007

  • @AirCommando12 Actually TF2 was released in 1968, the same year as the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey".

Also, 2001 because: "Heavy is oh-my-god-full-of-sandvich, open the spawn gate door, SPY9000, engineer is credit to fetus-like Stanley Kubrick being enclosed in a transparent orb of light, DUUUUUUN DUUUUUUUN DUUUUN DUUUUN!"

    Yeah, I pretty much...

  • i dont get it he goes through the teleporter and sees a shit load of colours.... end of movie

  • @IlGalloGrande Looks like someone hasn't seen "2001: A Space Odyssey".

  • if you didnt add the credits at the end, it wouldve been great.

  • @QwukeStudioz Ah, yeah. I guess I was a bit more crazier back then.

Pissed off that I had to re-edit the video twice because of the audio blocked content. So on the second time I added the credits where I ranted about stupid copyright.

  • @UshiromiyaReiji The movie was panned by quite a lot of critics when it came out, and the style of the movie means people either love it or hate it. I think it's an amazing movie.

  • Haha very well done man, I will have to show this some more people.

  • "Open the Intelligence room, HAL."

"I am sorry, Scout, I'm afraid I can't do that."

  • Wait, who are these "most people" that hated "A Space Odyssey"?

HOW can you hate a movie like this?

  • Oh my god!

    IT'S FULL OF SPIES!

  • @IlGalloGrande It's depressing you have never heard of 2001.

  • Said before. I will say it again.

    LSD is credit to team!

  • @Xusder the kids love these

  • @Xusder ACTUALY TF1 (there was TF1, TF Classic then TF2 in that order) was released in 1968.
