Para la informacion de todos, en Nigeria originalmente a la mujer se le representa con el mismo poder que al hombre. Por lo tanto ellas pueden ser y hacer todo lo que el hombre hace, hasta ser babalawo. Fue cuando la religion emigro que tuvo que acoplarse a la cultura donde se encontraban para asi ser aceptados, y un ejemplo de la acoplacion fue el machismo de que solo el hombre puede ser babalawo, mentira.

When i firstly saw Elegua, I thought it was Elegun Masqurade, but i got to understand later that it was Esu. Any way either its elegua or esu, its still YORUBA CULTURE, go on long live Yoruba , long live Nigeria.

He's dressed as Elegua. Elegua walked through a village in a hat that was half red and half black so that the villagers on one side of the street argued with the villagers on the other side of the street. In some stories the villagers annihilate one another over this. in others, he returns to the village and says that he did it to show them how people can have different perspectives of the same thing. So you see a jester outfit, and I see an Orisha.
