My life as a stray cat in Hong Kong

Tommy is one of many stray cats that my friend, Mary, attends to. Tommy is very sick now and "she" wants me to spread her life story so that people don't mistreat or abandon their companion pets. Being caretakers of stray animals in Hong Kong is not easy. They are always being misunderstood by people living in the neighbourhood of stray animals. Please help spread the message of not buying or breeding pets. Adopt stray animals. They need our love and compassion.

I feed a stray cat (for 4 months) can't get very close to it. It will hide under a car. I don't have money for a trap right now.

Yes, cats like hiding beneath cars especially during winter time to get warm. If it is only one cat, I guess there shouldn't be a problem with it growing into a colony. But I might be wrong, because I am not personally a volunteer. I will ask the opinion of Mary.

down my home have also kind of alot of stray cats ..their r many cat lovers over here to feed them branded food though.Can i know how to approach n feed them? they run very fast after seeing a stranger n over here a cat lover told me couple of cats have been maybe bitin by owned dogs :( i hope i could help them a little ...we have a spca very near to our place we r also from oi man tin.unfortunatly..we kannot keep animals i love cats very much

That is very thoughtful of you. Personally I don't know how to approach the cats and feed them. I am just a "watcher'. The closest thing I have done is leaving the food on the places they are supposed to be when Mary is not free to feed them. What I can do is I will ask Mary to write up something on how to feed stray cats on the blog of Tommy. I will send you a message when she finishes it.

got 2 stray cats in my yard i gave them food some times but i also try to pet but whenever i come near they ran away. wonder how to pet stray cat any idea?

Okay,so you just don't say don't adopt healthy animals and two,it doesn't matter if you buy an animal that is sick or an animal that is healthy, because, you know you can still make it better by, taking it to the vet !

@robynXreckless I've grown up in HK as well and I've seen so many news on animal abuse, especially cats. Why are there so many rescue centres? because there are a lot of animals that need help. I agree with you that most HK people don't eat dog/cat, and many people love their pets too, but there are also quite a lot of people abusing animals, some are their own pets, some are stray animals.
