Stalking a 25lb Common Snapping Turtle in DownEast Maine

In a Lake in Down Eastern Maine. I paddled up behind this Monster Snapping Turtle sunning himself on a piece of Granite. Once I was close to him, it occurred to me that perhaps I had taken on a bit more then what I had originally considered. The fact did not escape me as I waded over to this Beast that I had already seen several large turtles in this Lake and maybe there was an even bigger one still submerged. It was a bit exciting.

for the people complaining that he is somehow evil for doing this. he is barely putting any pressure on the tail at all. i have a pet snapping turtle that stays under water for 20 minutes plus at a time. i've seen these things bite birds legs off and the bird escape and die cause it can't survive like that. it's the circle of life. this guy is a human with no intention of hurting the turtle. him enjoying this turtle by any means is more important than the turtle feeling okay.

That's so mean, your holding his head under and he's kicking desperately to get away...grabbing them by the tail is like grabbing a rabbit by the ears, people do it but it's not the right way!

iv seen worse/better there was this guy swimmign around the waterbed with a camara UNDER WATER and we were like dude wtf are you doin he sed following a turtle we sed huh? and he went back under came up had had a 12inch snapper he was filming under water
