George McGovern:
"Less Credibility,
Weak on Foreign Policy"
What a terrific campaign slogan for him!

George McGovern was a Great Progressive. Sadly he was ahead of his time in 1972.

He's a mean-spirited person, all because he's been expelled from who knows how many game show forums over the last 10 years. He still tries to spread his "knowledge" of game shows with no sources. I'm just surprised it's taken comments like this one for people to block him.

This is actually pretty simple stuff when you take more than thirty seconds to actually think about it instead of just jumping on a bandwagon.

Under your logic Eisenhower would never have become president or otherwise would have been assassinated. Strategic realities also evolve over time and Kennedy realized that if America didn't invest in conventional capabilities their only options would be capitulation or full on nuclear war. Hence increased military investment and a sound strategic policy.

One can be "pro-military" and also anti-MIC. By your logic then President Eisenhower was totally ignorant of "the strategic realities facing America," Ever heard of him, dingbat?

Now I'd like to actually address the issue at hand. I submit that you're the lemming here. These people who speak of the "military industrial complex" are totally ignorant of the strategic realities facing America and use flawed logic when looking at the numbers. Also, when talking about assasinations I assume you're referring to Kennedy. Your theory here is idiotic as he was pro- military and signifficantly increased the defense budget (and rightly so). Ever heard of Flexible Response? Moron.
