A video montage of Rita Sullivan, played by Barbara Knox in Coronation Street.
Rita first appeared in Coronation Street for one episode in 1964. She returned permentley in 1972 and has appeared on the show since.
Barbara Knox was presented the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at the British Soap Award for her portrayal of Rita. Two years later in 2006, she and Malcolm Hebden (Norris) both won the award for 'Best On-Screen Partnership'.
In November, 2010, Barbara Knox was awarded a MBE for her commitment to Coronation Street for almost 45 years.

The scenes she did with Alan Bradley were my favourites! The Alan & Rita storyline is my all time favourite.
