I spray painted all of the sprues before I clipped the pieces off. I assembled basically page 1 of the instructions and gave it a slosh of boltgun metal, then put the wheels on.

Then I built pretty much everything else. Painted and washed and weathered.  The wagon would balance fine without the tracks/wheels as the bottom is quite flat.

I use weathering powder I picked up in a model train store one time when I was in Santa Clara California. It was basically no name, three colours of rust from brown to orange and a black for soot. Larger containers than forgeworld or MIG but similar. Very cheap. Unfortunately there is no label left as it was just 4 containers glued on a piece of cardboard with instructions. I use a little bit of matte medium where I want the rust and then dab on the powder.

@skarnir I figured as much but you know how some models don't balance well. I was going to do it anyways cause trying to paint behind the wheels and tracks while they're on just looked like a pain LOL

@MoreDakka101 leave the wheels and tracks off before you paint.

it will not effect the rest fo the model structure wise

Very nicely weathered! Did you just stipple on some browns to give it the rusty look?

I noticed you had base coated and such as soon as you had the base done. I'm thinking of putting everything accept the wheels and tracks together and painting it up that way and then putting the wheels and tracks on but not sure how that will affect putting the walls and such on.
