thanks- I played around, and see what you mean-
when you clear the history, there is a little box to check/uncheck that says- reset top sites- you want to make sure the box isn't checked- so that your preferences remain- thanks again.

how do you get the blue loading bar on safari 4 beta? On mine it just has a loading wheel thing on the right on the edge of the address bar.

you can clear the history, and it will stay that way. just click the edit button, and make sure the sites have the "pin" button selected, and it will be fine
