Joli was diagnosed with Stage V retinoblastoma just after her 2nd birthday. She had her right eye enucleated, 6 months of chemotherapy, a prosthetic created, and multiple exams under anesthesia (EUAs). It's nearly impossible to sum up a child's journey with cancer in less than 10 minutes, so this is simply a glimpse into the experience. She's doing well now. This video was created to support parents (or friends) who may have a child with Rb and are looking for a little bit of information. You can also check out www.rbne.org for more information!

  • Why did her hair fall out???? Reply please owner of the video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi Nickeypink09,

Joli's hair fell out because she had chemotherapy. We cut her hair just before chemo to avoid having hair all over the place, but her hair did fall out from the chemo treatments.

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! 3 years ago January 14th my daughter was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma. I remember the next day my husband and I looked up things on the internet and saw your daughter's story! Thank you so much for preparation on what we had ahead. Our daughter had her left eye removed and went through 6 rounds of chemo! Praise to you for posting this! Your daughter is so beautiful!

  • thank you for sharing your journey. it is especially helpul & educational to those of us studying to become an RN.

  • god be with her

  • Hi, I just want to say what a brave little girl you have! Your video has given us something to go on as to what to expect. Our 3 year old niece was just diagnosed with retinoblastoma and is scheduled for surgery next week to have her left eye removed. It is truly heartbreaking, and we pray each day that she makes it through this and remains cancer free afterward.

  • Love you Joli! (tita)
