Kucinich Slams Gratzer with Keyboard Cat

Dennis Kucinich takes Republican shill Dr. Gratzer to school on health care reform during a House hearing on HR 676 (single-payer health care reform). Dr. Gratzer is a Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, which is a right-wing "think tank" focused on promoting free-market principles (e.g., think Ayn Rand) with a mission to "develop and disseminate new ideas that foster greater economic choice and individual responsibility."

In the October 10, 2002 issue of CounterPunch Kurt Nimmo wrote, "the Manhattan Institute concerns itself with such things as 'welfare reform' (i.e., dismantling social programs), 'faith-based initiatives' (i.e., blurring the distinction between church and state), and 'education reform' (i.e., destroying public education)."

Dr. Gratzer was brought into these hearings to specifically tell the committee members how horrible the health care system is in Canada (where every citizen is insured). In other words, Dr. Gratzer was brought in to advocate for the health care industry in the United States by knocking down the Canadian health care system. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, GRATZER!

As a way of properly recognizing Dr. Gratzer's vacuous contribution to the House committee hearing on HR 676, it seemed right to bring in Keyboard Cat. Keyboard Cat was more than willing to provide his services. Play him off keyboard cat!

Based on your list of favorites, you do appear to have a proper appreciation for "keyboard cat" and that is what is really critical. It doesn't matter that people are actually dying each and every day because they have no health insurance or are under-insured. At least I am contributing something to this debate in my own small way. That's all I can really do. That's all we can expect anyone to do.
