Water draining counter clockwise in Brazil. It's a myth that water spirals down the drain in a certain direction depending on which hemisphere you are in.

  • wrong!!! The Earth rotates east making it ccw in the north and cw in the southern hem, example have you ever seen a tornado of a hurricane turn clock wise in the northern hem... I don't think so. But I do think it affects water in the sink, I tried it around 20 times and every time it went cw, AND THAT IS A PROBLEM! CLASS DISSMISSED

  • Brazil is so large that some parts are on the north hemisphere

  • coriolis force doesn't affect water. It's bullshit. Water flows down a drain in either direction in both hemispheres.

  • This is the most clear experiment for the counter clock wise sink

Due to the Earth's rotation around itself and the axis of the Earth is inclined, water swirl clockwise to the north of the equator and counter clockwise to the south of the equator.

Coriolis force component explains this phenomenon. It is like a form relativity.

  • why does it go counterclcokwise?

  • soo..you came to brazil for that...nice =D
