This was slated to be the lead single from madonnas 1995 greatest ballads compilation 'Something To Remember', a cover of a marvyn gaye song, it didnt gain much attention, so was replaced with the massive hit 'You'll Se''.

Specifically the beat was produced by Massive Attack. I would assume Nellee Hooper meshed the vocals and beat together.
It mentions it briefly in the wiki article 'Something to remember' (Madonna's compilation album) if you scroll down to 'new music'
You comment was nagging at me lol, I was wondering why it sounded like it was produced by massive attack. Knowing they created the instrumental portion makes plenty of sense. Thanks :)

@disinterestful It was actually produced by Nellee Hooper. To this day I have no idea what exactly Massive Attack's contribution is. I'm assuming they were playing the instruments, while Nellee put it all together.
