Jack Shilkret's Orchestra with Billy Murray - Clap Hands Here Comes Charley, Victor 1925
NOTE: Jack SHILKRET (b. 13 October 1896, New York, USA, d. 16 June 1964, New York) was the younger brother of famous leader of the Victor Dance Orchestra and the music director of Victor Records, Nat Shilkret. Jack was a pianist and dance band leader in the 20s and 30s. He worked on the radio show "Bond Bread Tea Shop" with Julia Sanderson and Frank Crumit, wrote the music for some minor films, and composed several popular songs, including "Make Believe", "Lazy Summer Moon", "April Showers Bring May Flowers", "Just Another Kiss", "Copenhagen Love Song", and "She's The Daughter Of K-K-K-Katy". He made only a handful of recordings, including the bravura interpretation of 1920s great hit "If You Knew Susie".
The Chaplin pictures you selected are just great. And I enjoyed the delightful music too.

Yowzers! What a treat! I first became aware of this song way back in 1975 when Ben Vereen performed it in the Barbara Streisand movie "Funny Lady". THANKS so much for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us! And loved the spiffy pics of Charlie Chaplin! May all your dreams & wishes come true in the New Year! :)
