Taser against Passive Resistance - Suspend Chief Jernigan

On February 12th 2007 Charlie Grapski was arrested for his presence at a meeting of the Alachua City Commission.

Grapski has been investigating and exposing corruption in the City of Alachua by the City's political and law enforcement officials.

Grapski refused to cooperate in his unlawful arrest and detention by going limp.

Alachua Police Chief Robert Jernigan ordered an officer to Taser Grapski because of his passive resistance.

This use of "extreme and lethal force" has been heavily criticized in the U.S. by Amnesty International. The threat to use such force in this instance is clearly inappropriate and excessive.

The Ad Hoc Committee for the Defense of Charlie Grapski and Alachua is calling on all concerned citizens to contact the newly elected Governor of Florida, Charlie Crist, and call for the immediate suspension of Robert Jernigan and the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the numerous allegations of criminal wrongdoing within the City of Alachua's Police Department.

Apparently it has come to the point in our evolution toward Fascism that the police are a sovereign authority with no accountability. Asking the Courts or public officials to hold them accountable is a waste of time. There used to be a crime called false arrest. It's called pain compliance, and it works. The problem is how we see it. There is no difference between this and being pinched with pliers or say being stuck with needles, the results are the same - compliance through torture techniques. To do this to humans is okay, but if done to an animal it would be considered an inhumane act.

they did everything right, your since of reality is gone. Officers have the power and authority to use the force necessary to subdue an individual and execute the arrest. Wrong a taser is a non-lethal weapon as a weapon that doesn't cause death(been proven wrong), but no matter it is still a weapon and such should be handle as a weapon lethal or non-lethal, and to those who said they went by the book, only proves there is something wrong with the book and it needs a revision.
