Under the House bill those who can afford to buy insurance and dont pay a fine. If the refuse to pay that fine theres a threat as with a lot of tax fines of jail time. The Senate removed that provision in the Senate Finance Committee. MANY non payment of fines result in jailtime. If I don't pay my rent, I'm homeless. Simple as that.

So in other words, you can't bo bothered to actually fact-check your own facts?

There is another word for that. It's called making shit up.

I watched the interview. I know what you are referring to. The point I'm making is that you said people will be required to pay a MAJOR fine.

It's all there, black and white, clear as crystal. You clearly say MAJOR and/or jail time. I would, for the second time of asking, like you to specifically tell me where you not only get the word MAJOR from, but where you get the AND jail time part from. From what I know, you only risk incurring jail time if you default and you have stated otherwise.

Sen. Ensign (R-Nev) rec'd a handwritten note fm the Joint Committee on Taxation CS Tom Barthold confirming penalty for failing to pay.. up to $1,900 fee for not buying health ins.

Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead

An amendment fm Sen. Bunning (R-Ky) to eliminate the mandate was rejected.

He was the man if you remember that was going to pay someone a million bucks to keep quite. So I will not indulge a corrupt officials figures, if you don't mind.
