@RALB008 I think you mean "Strutted" A strutted wing has no structure above the wing to support the weight of the wing. It's all internal. A strutted wing is a more high performance wing but is much heaver in control when banking left or right. I like them, but alot of pilots don't.

@BosNianBaLLer12 I'm not sure about the USA but i'm from Australia and we have a recreational pilot certificate requirement to fly trikes. It consists of 20 hours instruction with 5 of thoes hours being solo. So it is different to what is needed for a convential pilot to fly small fixed wing aircraft. My suggestion for you is to contact the FAA in the states to find out what is needed as im sure it would be a simular type of licence structure. Good luck.

@thaidating Are trikes safe? Yes they are. Like all aircraft they have limits that have to be respected. Over 90% of accidents are from pilot error. Trikes glide nicely, they wont just simply fall out of the air if the engine fails. In fact we often reduce the engine to idle to simulate an engine failure. With the proper training, trikes are quite easy to learn and i would encorage you to learn as i have had some awesome times flying my trike and i'm sure you will too.

I'm assuming you need a pilot license to fly one of these? I live in the states and am really interested in learning to fly one of these then purchase my own eventually.

Are these things safer than a Cessna? I hear Cessnas crash alot. Can someone who has a fear of heights fly these things? I was thinking about purchasing one. Your reply would be greatly appreciated.

@thaidating they are safe, i cannot say safer that cessna because it depends on the pilot.
you should take a tandem flight on one of these and see if you feel your feer of heights, alot of people feel very comfortable on it.
