In this episode of Paddling TV, Ken Whiting looks at how to quickly and smoothly perform a wet exit - to get out of your kayak in the case of a capsize. Sponsored by Necky Kayaks http://www.neckykayaks.com
@kcbraband I agree, that's exactly why I didn't say anything about that. I use a non neoprene skirt on my sea kayak and don't really have the need to pull forward and up, but I know with tighter neoprene skirts you have to do this.
It was still pretty obvious in the video while he was pulling on a tab on the skirt he was talking about the rip cord.
@jason3fc You and I may not have any doubt about what he's talking about. But beginning kayakers may have no idea. Anyway, the more important point I made was that saying "pulling" the rip cord doesn't adequately explain to a beginner what he/she is supposed to do.
Rip cord? I've never heard the grab loop called rip cord before. And when you say "pull" the rip cord, it would be good to say in what direction: Forward (away from you) and then up.

@kcbraband Is there really any doubt at all what he is talking about in the video? Who cares if they call it a rip cord.
