@santiano42 Very well said, I actually think for the energy Bruce is better in that sense but the vocal range Donnie is greater.
I have met both and have said them too Bruce is so appreciative and so is Donnie, love the both of them the same.

@santiano42 - I couldn't agree with you more! I love all the various incarnations of Runrig, & I've been a huge fan of theirs right from the start. They've had two incredible lead singers in their many decades of playing fantastic music. What more can anyone want? I agree with you: RUNRIG GU BRATH!!!!

Bruce has done well for Runrig. Donnie has moved on and will always be very special. The band is still going and that is all that matters. Scotland-Nova Scotia....one people, one heart, our beautiful mother..Scotland. In the years to come Scotland will need all her sons and daughters wether they be Scots Canadians, Scots Americans or wherever they hail from. Runrig will go on and so will our beloved Scotland.

@jillipepper5353 Well said ,i am from Strathpeffer,Ross-Shire,Scotla
nd but have emigrated to Alberta.What i read and know about the maritimes is that the culture that crossed the ocean is equal or arguably stronger than that of Bonnie Scotlands,Bruce was what kept Runrig going ,another wise decision in this truly great gaelic rock band -

Nova Scotia is New Scotland because it was named so by Scots who came here so long ago. The land in Cape Breton ( where Bruce is from) looks just like Scotland so I guess that's why they named it so. The old language and music still thrives and there is a Gallic college that teaches the language, the bagpipes and fiddle etc. You can buy nearly every tartan in their shop and they make kilts to order. So Scotland is very much alive in the people of Nova Scotia.

Runrig will always be the best! Donnie and Bruce are both great!

@santiano42 Roughly translated from Gaelic as 'I agree'

@santiano42 Aontaím leat.

Gar! Damn all you anti-Bruce folks!
He's different to Donnie, not worse!
Bruce saved Runrig and gave them an awesome second wind!
Donnie kicks ass and Bruce is damn awesome! End of.
'Runrig gu brath!'

That's because he's not Scottish! It's not like he's trying to do a 'fake' Scottish accent. Get over the Bruce vs Donnie thing.
