This is a WMFL NewsChannel 6 Special Report. Good afternoon & welcome to this special report. Miami-Dade police took into custody of a man who was holed up inside his home in a community in Hialeah Gardens on Tuesday & later taken to a crisis center for medical examinations. The situation unfolded earlier in the day in the area of 9012 NW 117th Terrace & there were no reports of other people involved. Paramedics were dispatched to the area along with a team from SWAT which took about 90 minutes to conclude peacefully. HAZMAT was on the scene because police recognized a barbeque grill without a propane gas tank. The man is possibly suicidal, he may use the tank in a harmful way. The SWAT team & police officers were outside the mans home hoping to get the man unarmed & out of the house. Thankfully, the police, SWAT & HAZMAT have left the scene. Local TV stations, CBS 4, NBC 6, Channel 7 & Local 10 aired the story during the News @ Noon. No one was injured in this scene. That does it for this WMFL NewsChannel 6 Special Report.
