I review my first thoughts of the Rode VideoMic Pro.

Solid, high quality mic, would highly recommend it.

Filmed on a Sony HDR CX550v, yes I needed an adapter for the shoe mount. Like I said, if you're using a camcorder you'll most likely have to use an adapter. If you're using a DSLR you probably won't need one. (it all depends on the model of the camera/camcorder).
Edited through Final Cut Pro. (in case you were wondering...)

  • @vida15 Typograph Pro

  • Nevermind, just found your beach audio test. That's exactly what I wanted to hear on the beach with the high pass filter. Thanks!

    wootness!

the only "complaint" i have so far is that it says 6-8 weeks to get the free dead cat and i havent gotten mine and its been like 14 weeks.

  • what version of final cut pro do you have??

  • @krazyeknine57

    final cut 7.

FCP X is just a totally different program and is definitely NOT an upgrade from Final Cut's predecessor.

  • Sony dislikes this video

  • you did good. you seem to be educated in the mic field of technology, so let me ask you if you can identify my technical problem with my web cam mich for my computer. this is it. it records but video but it has a great deal of static and can't hear anything that has been recorded. can this be fixed by some adjustments or is it defective? it used to work.

  • Good stuff. Now I have to get the shoe adaptor!

  • Nice review, keep up the good work.

  • Great review.

  • Dude you really are funny! Good job on the review and just FYI...Rode no longer offers the dead cat. But the 10 year warranty is still available if you register.

  • Well, I got to say, you left me smiling at your humor and pretty good video. I'm looking to buy soon. Best of luck and have lots of fun!
