Depeche Mode's ~ 'I sometimes wish I was dead' (original version) ..& Fad Gadget's ~ 'King of the Flies' (version), were both on a 'flexi-disk', that came (free) with 'FLEXIPOP!' magazine No. 11 (2nd October 1981). The Depeche Mode song has since been included on recent issues of their debut LP: 'Speak & Spell' as an extra track.. the 'new' version is different from this '1st release'. the story goes that ~ Martin & Fletch were away & Vince & Dave worked on this as a duo project over a weekend. The buildings featured in this clip are 'Blackwing Studios' (where so much of all this 'early great music' was recorded.

I missed getting this issue of 'Flexipop' magazine by one day. The only issue I never had. First time I've heard it. Brilliant. Thanks for uploading it.

Thanks for uploading this as I've been looking for this unique version of "King of Flies" by Fad Gadget. I was told by a fellow DM fan who once owned this that the version of "Sometimes I wish I were dead" was also unique to this flexi. Thanks to this upload this has now been confirmed!
