Damn these garbage truck fires really smell bad.

@daewooparts I didn't know you were removing airbags for a reason, I figured you were just doing it for something to do. As far as sticking with GM, to each their own. When I worked in the Ford shop I serviced thousands of Crown Vic copcars and taxis that had over 450K original miles and just the usual parts wore out like they do on all vehicles. Most Biscaynes, Impalas, Caprices, Camaros, Malibus, etc. that I've ever serviced were on there 3rd rebuild before 150K. I'd take a Ford over anything.

@beanienus No, just older and more experienced than you. Seeing as how Biscaynes were produced up until '72 and still in use by some P.D.'s up until the late 70's it's not exactly like I'm saying I routinely serviced Model-T's, I'm not that old. My point for mentioning them is that I've worked on all sorts of cop and taxi cars and Fords outlast everything else ten fold.

@DTOMUSA74 Biscaynes? What are you a hundred years old?
-
fuck that truck
-
@DTOMUSA74 ford is my second choice for the big 3 way better then dodge for build quality,
-
@DTOMUSA74 its illegal to dispose of airbags into the wastestream ,so might as well have some fun with them before getting rid of them or all the warranty claim bags after 90 days, and after seeing all the defective windstars with axle problems and tranny issues and all the CVPI copcars with defective wheels ,gas tanks and numerous other problems, i rather stick with GM ,then ford ,but ford is still way better then chrysler, even toyota!

@daewooparts First of all learn some math. In case you are not aware 56 is older than 42. Second, I know there were problematic Powerstrokes but Ford didn't make the Powerstroke until 2011 so once again your Ford bashing is uncalled for. I highly doubt you have fixed anything and I'm sure I'm more experienced since I was a mechanic for 33 years. Finally, if you were so old and mature you would not be playing with car airbags.
-
@DTOMUSA74 kid, i am way older then you ! and i fixed more fords ,gm, and crappy dodges then you had , explain why 3 to 4 year old powerstroke engines need a complete rebuild after such a short period, seen dozens of these motors with bad gaskets and failed egr valves, a diesel should last forever not 3 years

@daewooparts The problems you listed are more common on Daimler/chrysler and GM vehicles than they are on Fords. You can't convince me otherwise. I'm a retired mechanic and I'll never own anything other than Ford because they are the longest lasting, hardest working vehicles out there, period! By the way, get a life. Quit playing with airbags and learn something.
-
@daewooparts Like I said, you don't work on Fords or else you would know they are well built. The problems you listed are more common on GM and Daimler/Chrysler Trucks anyway so quit bashing Fords. I'm a retired Ford truck mechanic and can tell you first had that the GM and Dodge truck trade-ins we had were scrap compared to our trucks. Shows how mature you are by your comments about using airbags for fun. Get a life kid.
