well, may be Hulk vs Thor isn't canon, but you can say that Hulk too always hold back, but not by himself. Benner usually do this and without him there is no limit for Hulk's strength

thor holds the hammer easily cause its his anyone else trying to pick it up would be like picking up a planet which shows just how srong hulk can get and how he truly has no limit hulk can get so strong he could kill thor,superman and others by himself.

One of Thor' s characteristics is he always holds back, even against Hulk.
And Stan Lee did have it right, if you read his stuff from the 60's you'd see Thor holding on to his hammer with one hand (that Hulk was giving everything he had to try and rip away from him) while beating the piss out of Namor with the other.
And Alcairo, the animated movies aren't canon, but the aforementioned is, so is Thor (when he took over Asgard) killing both Hulk and Thing simultaneously

Thor rules Marvel comics, Stan Lee created Thor in order to be the best character of all. Hulk can be turned into nothing if Thor uses all his Mystical and Cosmic powers. Hulk has been overrated these last years, the stupid anime-movie Hulk vs Wolverine Hulk vs Thor is a JOKE.
