just so i get this right....did you think i literally wanted to plant/drop bombs in an entire city and bomb it?
Are you a little ill?
-
Everyone one has bad experiences. I spent two years living in a third world country and had people steal from me, break into my house, destroy my belongings, etc and I don't say that I want to bomb the country.
-
It wasn't one bad experience it was 7 months of bad experiences
over 200 bad experiences
-
You'd say worse if you had to go through what i went through
-
It's sad that you base your judgement of Cincinnati and it's residents on what appears to be one bad experience. Had you met me, I would have tried to help you, Now that you say, "i'd love to bomb the city to the ground", I have lost respect for you.

According to police stats, 70% of those rioters arrested lived outside of OTR... all that was in '01 anyway.
It seems quiet today, but unemployment's a fact and so's the less-discussed issue of underemployment. The area around Findlay Market offers hope but I see too many For Rent signs on those beautifully restored, new-condo-space buildings. Still think the much of the area can be saved from crumbling.
/moving to Freeman Avenue- problematic but dirt cheap
too many white people in acouple clips for it to be OTR. I used to ride my bike down in atr at a couple spots, and man was it the hood. guys drinkin malt liquor out of paper bags, little kids runnin around while their parents smoke joints on door steps. im white and got looked at like i was crazy

That's the point of this video. It's changed a lot in five years. Over New Years I went down there with two other white guys who are not intimidating in the slightest. We walked all over the area South of liberty in the early evening and never got harassed once. It's such a melting pot down there.

My friend and I got lost driving around in OTR and I gotta say, as 2 white Aussie chicks, we were feeling very uncomfortable....we to scared to ask for help, this was a few years back now. We were told to stay away from that area but somehow got lost and ended up there, it was an eye opener, but its always good to experience new places, we dont really have places like that over here!!! :)

Thank you for the reply. I'm glad you got the chance to see Over-the-Rhine, but the last part of the video contains all pictures from the last year. It's absolutely incredible how quickly the neighborhood's changing. No doubt, there are still plenty of bad places, but everything has shifted there. Next time you're in the Midwest, I implore your to check it out again.

i lived in OTR for a year, great place in theory, really liked it, except my car got broken into on my street like 10 times....but i am glad its turning around

HAHA, yeah I saw that in one of your videos. I'm glad you made the distinction between class and race. It really bothers me when people confuse the two. Fortunately I will not have a car when I move to Cincy, so I won't have to worry about break-ins. I do need to check out the pepper-spray laws though...
