Atheism isnt a belief system. Its a lack of belief. Atheists define their world through what they can have proven to them through science. Atheists would believe... No, know that god existed if he'd just show up and reproduce his miracles (supposing it actually ever happened) and explain the inner workings of the divine. Now we all know that wont happen, he's conveniently hidden away somewhere, all in the name of maintaining the pecking order in the christian terrorism movement.

But can one say that Atheism, Agnosticism and Christianity are based on the same facts, or lack of. We cannot prove God does or does not exist. They take a stance, which we should all respect, and treat everyone equally and not as second class citizens.
It's the extremists, the creationists of the literalists that just annoy the hell out of me. It's as pointless as a square wheel.

Science is not a belief system. It is based on facts.
Atheism is based on lack of facts, you can't prove god exists.

I believe it is meant to allow one to understand every belief system. Only by understanding everyone's position on belief systems, can one make up their own mind, or decide what is right for them.
I also think that the more you know about someone, or something, the more you can understand it and not fear the unknown. A good idea, I think.
