  • Hitch looks much much healthier than the last interview at C-Span. Three cheers for a heatlhy Hitch!

  • @ganjapoot @ganjapoot I'm not becoming what I scorn by holding up a mirror to your sanctimony. Poking a stick at tools like you is too fun. You kick up some shit and then think you've outwitted someone because you're condescending to the point that you think it's a skill. You strain to make a hypocrite of every enemy you manufacture, pointing out tragic irony where there is none. There is no way you won't respond to this. Now bitch about my typos and enjoy the melodrama that is your life.

  • @ganjapoot does your lord tell you to argue and fight people that don't agree with your beliefs also?

  • @gefan3 the idea of a creator or god-king is a phenomenal appearance in the sensibility of ourselves as a subject and a manner of species of representation. Its totally chimerical in nature,

  • @MountThor Yes, thats why alcoholics win, in the end.

  • @gefan3 - Yes, you are correct. Most people fear the unknown, death, or loneliness so they imagine supernatural and eternal parents, protectors, guardians, friends, and creators which don't really exist.

Or people place divine power in other human beings, from the Egyptian Pharaohs to Kim Jong Il, which is messianism and it is extremely dangerous and leads to a lot of evil.

  • No, no afterlife other than bugs munching on your corpse.

  • @TheAnthony8650 Does this not suggest that there is something innate in us (or most of us) that drives us to grovel at the feet of some supposed protector?

That instinct may be the real enemy against which we must always strive.

  • @iamthe3rd : Dude, you are on fire :)

  • 2011.

  • Hitch has done so much more damage to theism in the past 6mo after learning his condition than he did in all the years before.
