Brother! My family is from Maui too. The "Puha" is from Olowalu, Lahaina and the "Aikau" are from Hāmoa beyond Hāna.
I knew we had a special "pili!"

I have few kupuna to play music with anymore, but nā mele still feeds the soul. Mahalo for keeping the olelo alive. I hope to take one of your oli classes at AMC someday.

My family's roots are murky, but I think my grandfather grew up on the north shore of Maui so the songs from there are special to me.
