  • These *studies* just make me wanna scream. Eventually these *geniuses* will find out that, not just mockingbirds, but ALL ANIMALS have a lot more intelligence than humans have given them credit for. The researchers are just now discovering what animal lovers have known instinctly and empirically all along..... animals are intelligent, sensitive, bright, aware of their surroundings, feel pain, and deserve way more respect than they get on this planet full of stupid humans.

  • my mother in law who is always in the garden, told me about a mockingbird who used to sit on her shoulder while she worked. • Burdy haz lotsz 0f smarticle particlez?

  • lol get ready, the bird uprising is half a century overdue

  • my dog poops then eats it

  • Why is anyone surprised by this? I think it's only human conceit that allows us to believe that other animals don't have what we consider "human" qualities, but are actually qualities of being animals.

Years ago I visited Boston nearly every weekend, and fed the birds and other animals in the Public Garden. As soon as I entered the park, I was surrounded by birds. They didn't do that with other humans. They remembered me.

  • @than217: wow

  • dono about this species bird but other local birds can easily identify them by sound both tone and song they whistle with out seeing them ,bird sensors are much higher than ares which is why there early startled or react to fast motions

  • Are humans able to tell mocking birds apart ?

We don't have them here I think so I can't find out by experience.

I don't think I would be able to tell a bird from another of the same specie unless they have obvious differences like color patterns or size.

  • It must suck for the mailman or somebody who has to walk that route every day.

I wonder if the birds recognize the clothes or the person's face.
