Back in the 1980's I produced a public access tv show in Southern California called Rockstock. We featured mostly local So. Cal bands but on occasion would feature a national act. We were fortunate enough to get FIREHOSE on the show just months after the release of their debut LP "Ragin' Full On". They performed 2 songs, this one's called "Relating Dudes to Jazz"

  • is this not the studio version of the song and not live?

  • You're right. They came into our studio and lip synced to their studio recording. It was just easier to do it this way then do a live recording.

  • Really cool stuff, but where are their amps and mikes?

  • Oh, the magic of television. I remember Mike Watt had meetings at SST or something that day so we shot his stuff first and then he was gone, but Ed and George stuck around for an interview and whatnot.
