Finally got my new Cat back exhaust system installed. Took some time, because everything didn't go as easy as i thought. Eventually got it on and working.
So here's a clip of the new exhaust that I made right after I finished putting it on.

I was positively surprised how good was the exhaust note, It was worth the low prise that I payed.

Took it for a spin right after the video and the acceleration was also much better than with the original exhaust. I can belive the 20+ hp increase that was promised in the ad.

Soon making and posting some more vidz of the new thing.

  • hey mate, I'm thinking of buying one myself but I'm a little worried about a; losing power and, b; it being too noisy whilst driving... what's it like when all the windows are up and you're driving along? also do you think you've lost any power?

  • @drumboarder1 a) About the power. After installing this exhaust I immediately felt increase of power. I have also changet the original air filter for Green sport panel filter. So I think you should not lose any power. If you feel that some power has been lost, then i suggest getting the ECU remapped. Mine might have it done by the previous owner.

  • @MyDrivingVidz b) The boxer rumble inside the car is not at all loud. IMO it could be even more louder, but I'm satisfied with the current noise level. It definately doesnt interrupt the passengers. And if you use the silencer that comes along, you get absolute scilence (I sometimes use it on highway driving). Also when I listen to some music the sound system quite kills the exhaust noise.

BTW! The amount of apreciating looks that I get when driving in the city is enormous! :)

  • Could you send me a link to the exhaust or atleast one thats almost the same. There are so many different cheap eBay exhausts out there that i dont know which ones are good and which ones are bad. Thanks - Brian

  • @BrianNeathery I ordered mine from England: h ttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA-WRX-STI-GDA-01-CAT-BACK-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-/160447900277?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item255b70aa75#ht_2627wt_1139

  • @BrianNeathery But if you want it from USA i'd say this should do just good (check seller if it fits youd Impreza): h ttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-05-IMPREZA-WRX-STI-3-FULL-CATBACK-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQfitsZMakeQ3aSubaruQ7cModelQ3aImprezaQQhashZitem51998dacadQQitemZ350468549805QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_6906wt_1165

  • @jaygsi Driving in the city is very OK with this exhaust. Most of the time i drive with my window rolled down to hear the nice Boxer rumble. If I listen to music it is actually quite hard to hear the exhaust sound (with windows closed).

Driving on the highway is OK also untill I reach 120 km/h, then it gets louder, but this is allowed only on a few roads. But if i use the Scilencer that came with the exhaust, then the car sound almoast as quiet as it was with the original exhaust. So I recommend

  • Nice. hows it sounds on a run? is it ok or very nosiey. got same exhaust for my impreza. The last one i had just gave me a headache on a long run
