@greenbelter123 Sorry but no it's not a foot fault. After you've made contact with the ball you can land anywhere. The foot fault occurs during the service motion leading up to ball contact if the foot touches the line or is in the court.
-
surely that's a foot fault????
-
@Aoshimaa its the bow and arrow serve that Pete Sampras had. It's almost like standing still and wacking as hard as you can with your arm. Instead you also put your whole body into it with better consistency and direction.
-
this is a very good serve

Fed has changed his movements a little. In his early years, he diced the ball higher. Now the movement is perfectly timed.

i dont even think roger is 100% sure wat racket he uses they made him a racket a long time ago and hes been using the same one since like 2003 he said they just paint it to look like the newer ones
-
thanks
how you know that ?
I have read a comment that he used for a long time old painted Pro Staffs, you could see it at the cap of the grip.
-
you mean presently or here? If it's after Australian Open 2006 - I think this is 2006, but I may be wrong - he uses this:
Wilson K factor K sixone 90 tour
And there is 8grams of lead tape under the top cap.
-
what racket does he actually use ?
K-Factor, Six One Tour, Pro Staff or the latest one ???
I know that Soderling has some extra led in both the head and the grip. You can see it, the cap is missing and a metal stick can be seen.

A good serve starts with a good wind up. A good foundation
can anyone tell me if there are any advantages of jumping into the serve like that?

jumping lets you hit the ball higher, better downward angle (can hit harder); its also an part of the kinetic chain (for power).

wow he doesnt even bring his feet closer together for added balance, he doesnt need it cause hes so good! :P
Aoshimaa 3 years ago
it is simply a different style; some call it platform service stance; sampras uses it as well; but players such as roddick use the pinpoint stance (bring the feet together)...
